Video shows a very small, fast moving Class II creek. Water was high. Apparently a low water bridge was blocked by trees. He turned his kayak sideways to get ashore and flipped. Mr. Dial was pinned in the trees. His daughter washed free. Cedar Park man dies in kayaking accident on Brushy Creek A Cedar Park man died Wednesday afternoon while kayaking on Brushy Creek in Round Rock with his daughter. Round Rock police say Rodney Dial, 50, fell out of the two-person kayak at a low water crossing near Hwy 79 west of A.W. Grimes Road. The strong current pinned him underwater. Dial’s 17-year-old daughter was carried further downstream. When she reached the shore, she and two witnesses brought him to the surface but he floated downstream. Round Rock Police and firefighters pulled Dial out of the water and administered CPR at the scene. He died at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.
