The Bradford County Coroner’s Office rules the death accidental. It happened Saturday just before 1:00 P.M., just south of the Sayre Boat Launch. Michael S. Smith, 47, from Sayre died. Smith and Kenneth Foss were thrown from their boat when the boat they were riding in capsized. Foss survived. Smith became trapped underwater between the boat and a tree limb. Water rescue and a dive team recovered his body. The Bradford County Coroner says the cause of death is fresh water drowning and it has been ruled accidental.
