Near Drowning (canoe) 9/6/92 Big Island Ford – A 22- year old woman was in the center of a canoe with two others. Water level was 3.5 feet. The canoe turned sideways against a log jam and victim’s head was pinned underwater between a thwart and a log. After passing out, friends were able to move canoe after 5 or 10 minutes. Victim was revived with four breathes and made a complete recovery in a few days. Source: USFS
