Woman Dies After Raft Overturns In SW Colorado Jeanne Haylett’s Body Found In Dolores River POSTED: 11:58 am MDT May 26, 2009 CORTEZ, Colo. — An Arizona woman has died after her inflatable raft overturned in high water on the Upper Dolores River in southwest Colorado. Montezuma County Sheriff Gerald Wallace said the body of 40-year-old Jeanne Haylett of Flagstaff was found Monday not far from where the raft capsized a day earlier. Wallace said investigators believe she drowned. Sheriff’s Lt. Ted Meador said one other person who was in the raft was able to swim to safety. He said the raft capsized in rough water about 200 to 300 yards from where it was launched. Haylett’s life preserver was found downstream Sunday night.
