West Jordan resident Pamela Solomon, 54, was participating in a youth river rafting trip when she fell from her raft into the Snake River. Solomon’s son, Travis Jacobson, said she had a history of poor health issues. She had been battling a rare autoimmune disease called Sarcoidosis. “She did not have the best lungs. And that’s something she’s been fighting her whole life,” he said. “She went into cardiac arrest and that was it.” Church spokesman, Eric Hawkins told 2News in a statement that Solomon was wearing a life jacket and was quickly pulled from the river, but had swallowed a significant amount of water and required emergency resuscitation. Hawkins said Solomon passed away after being transported to a hospital in Jackson, Wyoming.
