Author: FOX54 News Staff September 20, 2021 HAZEL GREEN, Ala. — The Madison County Coroner on Monday identified a Hazel Green kayaker who was found dead on Sunday as 35-year-old Johnny Henderson III. According to the coroner, Henderson was kayaking with his children near their home when a strong current pulled them near a drainage pipe. Henderson got his children to safety from the kayak before he was overwhelmed by the current. Emergency workers searching the area later found him in the flood waters and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Water continues to rise days after heavy rainfall. His name has not been released at this time. The incident is under investigation.
