July 7, 1993: Chiquito Creek is not listed in any of my California guidebooks. Linda Costa, 11, died here when a small raft she was paddling with her sister flipped in a chute upstream of Mammoth Pool Reservoir. She was found still wearing her PFD. Her surviving sister was also wearing a life vest, but lost it in the turbulence.
