On April 23, 1998 a K-2 flipped soon after launching on the Chattahoochie River near Atlanta . One man made it to shore, but the other, Charles Huggins, disappeared. Local kayak racers joined dive team members in searching the area but found nothing. A construction worker at a bridge project found Huggins’ body on May 3. Neither man was wearing a PFD.
