Utah man, 47, dies rafting in Colorado RiverBy Amy HamiltonMonday, June 14, 2010 A 47-year-old Clearfield, Utah, man died Saturday while rafting with a commercial rafting company in the Colorado River near Moab. Rescuers attempted CPR on Lawrence Evaro, but were unable to revive the man after he fell out of a rubber raft near the White Rapids, near the Red Cliffs Lodge, according to Utah’s Grand County Sheriff’s Department. Evaro was rafting with the group World Wide River Expeditions and he was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident. Evaro was unable to get back into the boat after falling out and went through the rapids. Evaro was pulled to shore, treated for CPR and taken to Allen Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
