Area man drowns in Mountain Fork River (Shorenewstoday.com) (06-29-10) BROKEN BOW, OK An Ashdown, Ark., man drowned Sun. (06-27) in the Mountain Fork River about 6 miles east of Broken Bow, Okla., in McCurtain County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. The man was identified as Aaron Kyle Reed, 24. Little River Co., Ark., Sheriff Danny Russell confirmed Reed is the son of Ashdown Mayor Wayne Reed. Reed was canoeing with a group and was the last canoe and was alone, said a report filed by Oklahoma Trooper Kevin Antwine of the lake patrol division. The group had traveled about 4 miles and was nearing its destination.
