Tuber, 67, drowns near Gruene Bridge Web Posted: 07/22/2010 4:30 CDT A 67-year-old Michigan woman tubing with family Wednesday afternoon on the Guadalupe River fell off an inner tube and drowned, New Braunfels police said. The woman, Janet Ann Keck, 67, of Temperance, Michigan, was tubing near the 1000 block of Gruene Road shortly after noon when she went over rapids and fell off her tube, said New Braunfels police Lt. Mike Penshorn. Witnesses said Keck was floating just downstream from the Gruene Bridge when she slipped under. Police said family members pulled her from the water and began administering CPR. Keck was taken to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, where she was pronounced dead.
