Rafting accident results in death of Utah woman By Lauren Green Published: Jun 28, 2011 ELMORE COUNTY, Idaho – Officials recovered a body of a rafter Tuesday morning from the Boise River. Cami Oborn, 34, was visiting the area from Riverton, Utah to attend a family reunion. Several family members went rafting down the Middle Fork when the raft became lodged on a stump. The raft became lodged in a “strainer” and Oborn became trapped under a log. The body was recovered successfully and no one else was injured. Oborn was in Atlanta for a family reunion, the sheriff’s office said. She and five other family members went rafting down the Middle Fork of the Boise River at about 6:30 p.m. The group’s raft became lodged on a stump, and they got out to try to dislodge it. The raft was caught in a “strainer,” and Oborn became trapped under a log. Oborn’s body was recovered at about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, sheriff’s officials said. Atlanta is in a remote area of Elmore County. It is more than 75 miles northeast of Mountain Home, and about a 2.5 hour drive from there.
