The Custer County sheriff’s office says someone fell from an inflatable river raft at an area of rapids known as Velvet Falls, about 5 miles downstream from the Boundary Creek boat launch. The person fell into the fast-moving water at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The search for the body continues. The missing person was part of a rafting party of 14 people that launched into the river Sunday morning. The person’s name, age and gender were being withheld while family members were notified.
