Thomas Eugene Lamb, 37, of Medford, died after he and his wife fell into the water when their Tahiti raft overturned between the Cole Rivers Fish Hatchery and Casey State Park below Lost Creek Lake, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release this morning. “Neither were wearing life jackets, and Mr. Lamb was unable to swim,” the release said. The accident occurred just before 3 p.m. Monday. The sheriff’s department, Jackson County Search & Rescue and Jackson County Fire District 4 out of Shady Cove responded. Rescuers attempted CPR on Lamb after he was brought to shore near the Highway 62 bridge over the Rogue River but were unable to revive him. His wife suffered a broken ankle. — Ryan Pfeil
