On July 20, 2023, my parents and niece took an afternoon raft trip with Wilderness Aware Rafting through Browns Canyon National Monument. In the toilet bowl rapid, the guide, both my parents, and two or three other guests all went in the river. All the swimmers got back into the boat except my mom, who was left in the water, hanging onto the boat through the next rapid.
