Description

The sheriff received an alert about a body floating in the river but couldn’t find it after a couple days of searching. The body was then found in a log Jane a couple days later. The victim apparently was not boating and may have just been wading or cooling off and lost control. This section of river is very cold and very continuous. The rapids generally class 2 or easier, but there are almost no pools to recover in case of an incident. Finally, a fire a few years ago has resulted in lots of wood ending up in the river. It almost never blocks the river completely but often ends up in inconvenient spots. I know this technically isn’t a whitewater incident, but I already have heard people conflating it with one. I thought I’d let you know. https://www.kezi.com/news/deceased-eugene-man-recovered-from-mckenzie-river/article_d837438a-2908-11ef-9b76-53d60e66781b.html
