Description

Man drowns while tubing in the Delaware River near Easton By Kaleah Mcilwain Published July 8, 2024 The Northampton County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who drowned while tubing in the Delaware River on Saturday, July 7. According to police, 53-year-old Gary Conley was using a flotation tube on the river when he entered the water near Boileau Avenue in the City of Easton for an unknown reason. However, officials said, Conley did not return to the surface. He was pulled from the water by other individuals who performed CPR until EMS arrived and, police said, he was transported to a nearby hospital. Conley, who resided on the 2200 block of N. Delaware Drive in Easton, was resuscitated at the hospital but died from complications from the drowning on Sunday, June 7, according to police officials. The manner of his death was ruled accidental by the coroner’s office.
