Two paddle boarders we’re reported as paddling “near Pringle Falls” on the Deschutes River. One was swept into Pringle Falls, a class 4 with no legal scout that sometimes surprises paddlers on the class 1 section above. When rescuers arrived, they reported observing her “entangled” in the river. They were unable to rescue her before she disappeared, apparently to wash downstream. Her body was found several hours later downstream. The other paddle boarder was rescued after washing through the falls. https://bendbulletin.com/2025/05/30/la-pine-woman-dies-after-being-trapped-in-rapids-at-pringle-falls/
