Congratulations AW Volunteer of the Month for March: CARRIE KELLER

 

Long-time whitewater enthusiast Carrie Keller stepped up to the plate in a big way this past October.  She enthusiastically agreed to help AW host the Paddler’s Art Gallery at AW’s 50th Anniversary Gala in Vail, Co on June 5th.  Over the past six months, she has spent countless hours researching and inviting esteemed river artists to join AW in Vail and to donate a piece of their artwork to be auctioned off with all proceeds benefiting AW’s conservation and access programs.

 

Carrie has utilized her decades of personal experiences and contacts in the whitewater industry to help make this a wonderful event.  AW is indebted to Carrie’s dedication and enthusiasm, the Paddler’s Art Gallery will be a key component of AW’s fundraising activities taking place during AW’s 50th Anniversary.

 

On top of being a wonderful AW Volunteer, Carrie is a whitewater mom.  Her 17 year old son Pat, travels the world paddling for a whole host of sponsors including Teva and Dagger.  Pat is a regular columnist for the AW Journal and this past winter Carrie wrote a great article about being a whitewater mom for the Novermber/December issue of the AW Journal. 

 

AW would like to thank Carrie and all of AW’s extremely dedicated and passionate volunteers.
