WANT A FUN AND EASY WAY TO BE A PART OF WHAT MAKES IT HAPPEN?

IN ADDITION TO AW’S GRATITUDE, WE’LL PRESENT YOU WITH A LIMITED EDITION “VOLUNTEER’S ONLY” SHIRT

The 2004 Gauley Festival is going to be the best yet. It’s a showcase for AW and the top vendors in the whitewater culture. It’s a place to catch up with old friends, make new ones and have a great old time.

Sign up for 2 hours (or more) to become a part of the Gauley Fest Volunteer Team. Then, while you’re enjoying the festival, you can be wearing your Volunteer Shirt with the satisfaction of knowing they…“couldn’t have done it without you.”

Plus volunteers are invited to the exclusive American Whitewater volunteer reception Friday night at 6pm in the dining hall at Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park! Volunteers will be treated to pizza and microbrew beer from Highland Brewing Company of Asheville, NC! 

Here are the volunteer opportunities for you and your friends:

Wed. Thurs. & Fri., 9/22 9/23 & 9/24, 8 AM to 9 PM  – Pick your hours throughout either day helping set up the festival grounds, marking booth spaces, setting up traffic cones, etc.

                           ESPECIALLY NEEDED ARE PEOPLE WITH ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE.

Fri. 9/24, 8 AM to 9 PM – Pick your hours – help to register incoming campers

Sat. 9/25, 8 AM to 10 AM – Tuck publicity flyers on windshields in designated lots

Sat. 9/25, 8 AM to 4 PM – Pick your hours – help at the AW cabin to register incoming campers

Sat. 9/25, 4 PM to 11 PM – Pick your hours – help at the gate to collect entrance and camping fees, hand out magazines, direct traffic or help out with parking

Sat. 9/25, 5 PM to 11 PM – Pick your hours during the festival – assist AW Board Members and staff at the AW booth, “work” the crowd to sell raffle tickets, or help at the silent auction

Sun. 9/26, 8 AM to Noon – Help AW Board and staff tear down & clean up
