A controversial land swap is being planned for Colorado’s Blue River, a tributary that enters the Colorado River just above Gore Canyon.  Under the proposal, a large protion of the publicly owned Blue River would become privately owned.  We encourage concerned paddlers to contact the BLM to learn more, or to attend several meetings planned in early August.  AW will be reviewing the situation and filing comments, and we encourage all Blue River paddlers to do the same.

An open house will be held from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Fairgrounds in Kremmling.

A tour of the properties will be conducted at 9 a.m. Aug. 5 from a starting point at the Kremmling Field Office. Phone 970-724-3000 for details.

Written comment may be directed to John Ruhs, field manager, at Box 68, Kremmling, 80459 or by e-mail to John_Ruhs@co.blm.gov.
