From Brian (the organizer),
Having been somewhat involved in the AW appeal to open the headwaters of the Chattooga (www.fs.fed.us/r8/fms for info and forum) I wanted to film the clean up needed in the lower sections of the headwaters and trail management. Then I realized that with this rationale I was being selfish, just like those wanting to continue the ban. So the idea came to me to do an entire river clean up.
I hope everyone can make it out to help! The plan is to meet at the access and divide into groups, from there we will disperse to different sections of the river for the clean up. Then launch a floatilla of trash barges down river to collect debris from other groups and cover any area inaccessible to the other groups.
Come out and support this incredible river!
Just a little bit of time can lead to a lifetime
of worthwhile memories.
This will be a very important showing that the boating community cares for the river and the surrounding area. With a decision as important as the headwaters involved, we as boaters need to get out and show what boaters truly care about.
Thanks,
Brian
