Let the countdown begin! T-minus 26 days and counting 'till Bailey Fest 2012!

Dates are August 10-12, 2012. Information can be found here: Bailey Fest | Whitewater Kayak Festival | NF South Platte River | Denver, Colorado including camping info, dates, maps, photos, etc.

After one of the worst drought years in Colorado, Bailey Fest has what you need… WATER in the river!  Good boating flows are provided thanks to Denver Water moving water from Lake Dillon into the North Fork South Platte for use in Denver. The event highlights how water supplies in Colorado can be managed to meet the needs of our cities, while providing good recreational opportunities at the same time!

There are many upgrades to Bailey Fest since last year. Space for the event is generously provided by private landowners who have installed a wooden footbridge connecting the two sides of the river – We've got over double the space this year, and a great set up. Evening Festival activities, including movies, music, and the world infamous "supermax showdown" will be on river right (where the Fest was located last year), accompanied by refreshments from Oskar Blues. Vehicle camping will be on river left. The Fest will be 3 days, Friday through Sunday.

– Friday kicks off with a cruise on the Bailey section of the North Fork, organized by Colorado Whitewater (join CW to participate), and a camp ground party Friday night showcasing videos on our outdoor movie screen.

– Saturday is the main event.  Activities inlcude paddling, a safety class offered by Downstream Edge, a takeout party at Pine Valley Ranch Park (Bailey Takeout), an AW membership drive with prizes and more, the Supermax Showdown Foamie Cross Race, and a good ole' fashioned camp party.

– Sunday, get your boof on again, leave no trace at your camp site, and head home with a smile on your face.

Bailey Fest entrance fee is $20 per person. For that modest fee you get… water in the river, riverside camping in a private meadow, a takeout party with food and Oskar Blues Beer, an evening camp party, and a great time!

Bailey Fest proceeds will be donated to American Whitewater, and a HUGE THANKS goes to Bailey Fest Sponsors: AW, Jackson Kayaks, Confluence Kayak Shop, Oskar Blues Brewing, Downstream Edge, Rivers Media, Four Corners River Sports, Immersion Research, Golden River Sports, Colorado Whitewater, Jack's Plastic Welding, Five Ten, Kokatat, NRS, Werner, Rack Attack, Mountainbuzz, Sweet, Kayak Session, Colorado Kayak Supply, and Ten Mile Creek Kayaks.

As the event gets closer, we will be looking for volunteers. If you can help with the takeout party set up, at the campground, with the supermax showdown race, or with setting up for the fest in the coming weeks, please visit www.baileyfest.com to contact us!
