American Whitewater is proud to annouce Phillip "Bubba" Sisk as our April Volunteer of the Month!

Bubba is an integral part of the National Paddling Film Festival (which raises $5,000+ for American Whitewater each year!). NPFF's head honcho, Bethany Overfield, had this to say about Bubba:

I want to nominate Phillip "Bubba" Sisk as the American Whitewater Volunteer of the Month for the countless hours of volunteer work he put into the National Paddling Film Festival this year. Bubba is one of the key people orchestrating the event and he's been an essential behind-the-scenes player for many years. We'd be lost without him. Bubba is our main contact with the filmmakers, he helps to facilitate getting the films to the judges, he takes care of the film line-up and this year he spent hours giving me advice on how to run a flawless NPFF. These are details that Bubba selflessly takes care of every year. He rarely gets any props for all he does because he's an NPFF workhorse ninja.

Of all the tasks that he took care of that I previously mentioned, however, one stands out above all the others. Bubba got us free kegs of beer for the festival. Lots of them. This year he scored 12 free kegs from Cumberland Brewery out of Louisville, Ky. That makes him an NPFF hero in my book and certainly warrants an 'AW Volunteer of the Month' title.

Unfortunately he hurt his back the Thursday before the festival and didn't even get to make it to the big show. This makes him that much more deserving-Viva la Bubba!!!!!

As a thanks for his many efforts, Bubba will be receiving a Kokatat WoolCore shirt! Thanks Bubba!
