The Stanislaus National Forest in California has issued a closure order for the areas impacted by the Rim Fire. The Rim Fire Closure Area affects the Groveland and Mi-Wok Ranger Districts in order to provide public safety and protect natural resources. During the closure, which lasts through November 2014, the public is not allowed to enter the forest or to travel on any road or trail within the closure area. This closure eliminates access to the main Tuolumne River and to almost all of its tributaries, including: Cherry Creek, Upper Cherry Creek, Clavey River and the SF Tuolumne. Cherry Lake, Elenore Lake and Hetch Hetchy are all within the closure area.
