The Charles Paul Horner American Whitewater Memorial Fund

January 25, 2002

Hey everyone,

It’s been a difficult week for all of us. Paul was a great guy! A cowboyin his own right. He cared about all of you and mentioned on more than oneoccassion how fortunate he was to not only have great friends but to be apart of such a neat group of folks.

It doesn’t surprise any of us that with our lifestyles we put ourselves onthe line everyday. I am sure we tell ourselves regularly that we want to goout of this world doing something fun and really making a difference. Allof you do something extreme and we know the risks every morning before we goboating, biking or boarding. We see this happening more in our communitybut it never gets easier.

I am sending you the following information about Paul’s services and aboutthe Memorial we have set up in his honor. It is a fund going to the AWA andlater in the year you will all be updated on where this fund will be spent.

Please forward to all those passionate about our local rivers and theindividuals who bring them to life.

All of you are in my thoughts.

The waters rising! Be safe and lets stay fired up about what we do and why.
