The severe drought on the east coast has claimed yet another whitewater resource. American Whitewater recieved the following information regarding the releases on the Tohickon River in Eastern Pennsylvania:
I just consulted with the Delaware River Basin Commission and I regret to
tell you that the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will not
be able to do the whitewater release from Lake Nockamixon into the Tohickon
this March due to the drought emergency. We would be grateful if you
helped us get this news out to other boaters.
For more information on the drought, see
http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/subject/hotopics/drought/default.htm
Hopefully the drought will soon pass and we can resume spring and fall
releases. Dam work has replaced/repaired the broken parts.
