Teva Tariffville Rodeo CANCELLED

March 11, 2002

Unfortunately, the Teva Tariffville Whitewater Rodeo presented by Perception will fall victim to the worst drought the Northeast has seen in 125 years. Organizers were distraught to learn that reservoir and lake levels are at 40% of what they should be at this time of the year. Low lake levels and a virtually nonexistent snow pack forced government agencies to implement water conservation strategies to ensure that they will be able to meet capacity demands throughout the remainder of the year. Lead organizer, Dug Benton said, “we are very disappointed to not have the opportunity to share our local river with people from all over the country, but we are more committed than ever to hosting one of the best whitewater events in 2003.” With the cancellation of the Tariffville event, the American Whitewater staff is researching other options for the third Northeastern stop on the 2002 Teva Tour. Keep checking the American Whitewater website for details as they develop.
