The Teva Tour Goes Big at the Ottawa!!

September 3, 2002

The Teva Ottawa River Rodeo hosted by Equinox Adventures and sanctioned by American Whitewater was the largest competitive event to date. Over 120 competitors competed in the hole riding competition. The large competitive field and big bouncy holes provided spectators and competitors alike with some incredible competition; including an intense battle between Teva’s Pat Keller and Perception’s Dustin Urban during the Junior Expert Finals.

Competitors competed in the monstrous left side of Horseshoe at approximately -1 foot. During the competition, all were treated to Bryan Kirk’s perfectly executed Helix on near perfect levels at Baby Face. Canadian Ottawa local and Team Dagger Pro, Brendan Mark, showed everyone that all are welcome at the Ottawa River, but don’t expect to go home with any trophies if you show up. Brendan put up several super consistent rides in a very inconsistent and exploding feature. Dagger’s Andre Spino Smith placed third and Jay Kincaid of Team Wave Sport came in second.

All in all a great competition for amateurs and professionals alike on a world class venue. Keep your eyes peeled as our competitors head to the Gauley River Rolling Rodeo for the last event on the Teva Tour before the National Championship on the Ocoee River.
