2003 Potomac Whitewater Festival

The 2003 Potomac Whitewater Festival will feature a series a dazzling contests requiring kayakers to demonstrate mastery of the fast-moving water near Great Falls on the Potomac River. This three-day whitewater extravaganza is the only event of its kind in the DC area…don’t miss it!

The competition venue will be at Great Falls Park, Virginia. Events ranging from head-spinning rodeo to upstream and downstream sprints to the adrenaline-inducing Great Falls Race will be held on the Potomac River at and immediately downriver of Great Falls on Friday, May 30, Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.

In addition to providing challenge and entertainment for the boaters and spectators, the purpose of the Potomac Whitewater Festival is to raise funds for river conservation and river access in cooperation with the Festival’s principal sponsor, American Whitewater.
