Dear Green River Access Fund Donors,
In our last communication, AW asked for a three-month extension with your donation in case an alternate access solution was found. Unfortunately during this time, we were unable to purchase an alternate site, and with continuing difficulties with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, we now would like offer you several options regarding your donation.
The first option, always available, is a complete and prompt refund of your donation. The second option is for your entire donation to be rolled into AW’s Southeastern Access Fund, which will assist our staff and volunteers with other access issues in the Southeast. The third option is for your donation to provide for 2004 Green access. As of January 1, 2004, undesignated donations will be applied to AW’s work in the Southeast under Option 1. And — if you have any specific requests outside of these three options, we will do our best to honor them.
You may indicate your intent by e-mailing Sutton Bacon at sutton@suttonbacon.com, phoning American Whitewater at 866-BOAT4AW, or by writing us as at 1424 Fenwick Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Please use the following format:
My total donation to the Green River Access Fund was $_______
Option 1: Please refund my donation, Amount: $_________
Option 2: Donate to Southeastern Access, Amount: $_________
Option 3: Donate to 2004 Green Access, $_________
We will continue to work diligently on the Green River, as it is one of our very top access priorities in the South. To reward our supporters, each donor to the access fund in 2003 will be given a complimentary parking sticker for 2004. Although future donations to Green access are completely voluntary, access at Gallimore Creek Road will only remain open as long as we are able to make our monthly payments — so we strongly encourage each Green River paddler to continue your personal financial stewardship of the Green, whatever that may be. By donating at least a portion of your donation back to Green Access, we can ensure that the lot stays open throughout 2004 and beyond.
Again, American Whitewater would like to offer our sincerest gratitude for trusting us with your donation and for supporting our efforts on the Green River. The outpouring of support from across the country is a testament to our remarkable paddling family and the spectacular place that many of us call home. We hope that you will continue to support our efforts to serve you!
Best wishes and I hope to see you on the Green soon!
