Salmon, North Fork
Right Hand Fork to Mule Bridge(Wilderness Run)

USGS Salmon River at Somes Bar hydrograph. After several days of higher flows, cooler weather caused the river to drop the night before our May 18 trip. Flows at the gage were 3,850 cfs when we put on. The peak from May 17 was 4,400 and the low from that night was 3,600; we ran it on the decline. Flows were significantly higher the day before. The drop was caused by a small decrease in daytime highs (90ºF instead of 95º in Sawyers Bar) and an 8º drop in nighttime low at the elevation of the snowpack.
