Middle Eagle Creek is pretty run outside of Estacada with an excellent 15 foot waterfall that is rather friendly at the right flows.
The run starts off easy and scenic, watch for logs. Near the end of the run the waterfall appears after a long easy lead in next to a retaining wall. Eddy out on the right as soon as the retaining wall is seen, shortly after a class III bedrock sliding rapid that bends to the left and stands out from everything else on the run.
At high water, the hole in the center of the falls does get rather menacing, but the right side flake is the usual line anyway. Laps can be done if desired, and the falls can be portaged on either side, though left is easier.
Downstream there is some more easy floating until a large field on the left is passed. Downstream of here there is a decently long section of class III-III+ boulder gardens that peter out just before the take out bridge at Snuffin Rd.
Snuffin Rd bridge is the take out, some boaters continue through one or two more stretches.
