New River wide strainer just above 'Bang Rock'. Easiest portage was on river left.
I put eyes on this Spring 2023. Dangerous in high water. Will need to portage at least twice for sure, and two other trees may have a sneak route here and there, but not easy to find among all the branches. Things likely have shifted and maybe have gotten worse. Some of the fallen trees are huge. Put in at the Greenville Rd bridge to bypass the worst of it.
New Strainer blocking River left channel just below Bang Rock. There are two river wide strainers below that. Don't have much sight distance on the first one, the second two were seen in time.
There are many river-wide strainers in this section of river after the ice storm of Dec 2008. On June 6, 2009, the first several were partially or fully removed, however many remain farther downstream.
