Wappinger Creek

This page is incomplete and the mapped section can't be run at Wappingers Falls due to the power dam, but I drive by this often. There is a 8mi 'race' every April. Google. Wappingers Water Derby. Starts in Pleasant Valley and ends Greenvale park. The river can be run from Clinton Corners to Wappingers, but there are several Dams. one in Pleasant Valley (start or end here). A good place to check water levels from the bridge. A broken one at Red Oaks Mill that can be run now with enough water. A power Dam in the village of Wappingers Falls. End here at Route 9. The map should be split into more parts. There is no good gauge, but this is not a travel destination as much as a local one where one watches the rain and goes and takes a look.
