This is a good news alert! With support from two local paddling clubs, the OKCC and LCCC, Sam Drevo orchestrated the removal of the log that was lodged in Nemesis rapid. It’s now gone!
Sandstone Bridge launch site is now open. This is the best access spot for rafts and kayaks for the upper section of the river and provides a good takeout for the Killer Fang section upstream.
After being closed in spring 2020 due to COVID-19 followed by the Riverside Fire that closed the river from fall 2020 through spring 2022, Highway 224 along the Clackamas River is now open to the public as of May 2022. River access is available at Hole in the Wall, Carter Bridge, and Moore Creek.
