4. Rome to Birch Creek or Leslie Gulch(Lower Owyhee)
The hot spring wetland is critical breeding habitat for Woodhouse and Western toads. Eggs are laid during spring boating season between the pool and the river. Moor boats downstream at the campsite and hike up to the hotsprings so as not to disturb the toad habitat.
