Paddled this section for the first time on 10-15-22. It was a ton of fun. A little overwhelming the first time as it was the most continuous whitewater run I've paddled. Got lucky and really didn't encounter much raft traffic. It was pretty much just a good time the whole time.

6-7-15, G canoed the whole middle section (for the first time) and styled it, he and Eli explored some Christopher Columbus lines right of tablesaw. Ct, DS, Christina, Sam and Monroe were in a raft, Eli in the canoe, Joy in a ducky, Mark and sis in maxi me. We ate lunch after slice and dice. This was the first trip we used the new canoe trailer. It got surprisingly cool in the middle of the trip.

6-1-15 G guided the raft with CT and Josh paddling. He switched with Eli into the canoe and did everything from western flyer down. Everything went well, he avoided the first ledge at powerhouse and went right but then punched through the bottom hole.

A great, traffic free, day to be on the Ocoee. It was 4/21 and I guess everyone else was still recovering from the holiday. Sunny, 85 degrees, and no crowd. It just doesn't get any better.

The Ocoee does get empty....and quite pretty if you take the time to look.

Notice the look of intensity -- I'm really trying hard to look stylish in this pic. Sad thing is, I flipped in the runout. Good thing she didn't catch that on film ...
This is Christy. She's a spectacular paddler. And she's a spectacular cutie. Sorry boys, she's taken. The only sickening thing about her is how easy she makes it look.

I was so scared of getting in that bottom hole ... I avoided it this time, but next time down, I wasn't as fortunate.
I didn't want to get caught in that hole at the bottom of the last drop, so I paddled my hindquarters off to get left of it, but you can get too far left after that first drop and have to work back to the right to avoid that rock (which is what you see me doing here). I find myself dodging that rock every time I run the rapid.

This was thomas in the hole for the first time since he joined the Navy (He was a little rusty)
I must have planted this one just right, because it felt good. Can't say enough about my wave sport ZG, its the best boat i've ever paddled.
Tryin to set up for that big loop, and getting a face full.

Random release one evening. Hell hole wasn't in, but wave above was fun. The lights from powerhouse were just bright enough.

David has never completed a loop or back loop. This was almost his first.
