Not sure how to upload files, so here it is in text. I copied and edited Karen's GPS positions into a Google Earth .kml file. Copy and paste below into a text document, name it something like Deso_Gray.kml (ie Notepad, Wordpad), and open in Google Earth to see the put in, and rapid locations. Might have to reformat some of the longer lines.

A group prepares to launch from Sand Wash onto the Green River. Facilities include two pit toilets and two screened rooms. There is no potable water available. A ranger's residence is a short walk from the parking area. It is to the right of this picture.

Boat ramp on the east side of the river at Ouray. There is a large parking area behind the bushes on the right. We were told that this area gets heavy use by water tanker trucks filling up to deliver water out to the oil facilities. There was no such activity during the short time that we passed by.
Ouray, Utah where highway 88 crosses the Green River. It is not a town, but only a few houses and structures.

The boat ramp at the Wildlife Refuge is about 8 miles upstream of the bridge at Ouray. Launching here instead of at Ouray, adds an extra 1/2 to a full day of flat water paddling, but the wildlife viewing was nice. This is 3 to 5 days of flatwater paddling from Sand Wash.

To get here required driving several miles on a dirt/gravel road. A large sign states, 'Boat Ramp'.

Even in late September, meat bees and wasps were a problem and several people were stung and/or bitten.
Another view of the primitive boat ramp 8 miles upstream of Ouray, on the Green River.

I believe this is the Ouray National Wildlife refuge.
