2. Tenmile to Sago
Alerts
Log in to add an alertWarning! There is a branch-less tree 12' diameter trunk (a bole) dangerously blocking the left, normally run stairstep chute (with a small obstructing boulder midway down) of a cascade with a 6' drop maybe a mile (?) downriver from the TenMile bridge. The bole could not be seen from downriver of it, nor when scouting from upriver, only from a wood pile above atop 10' (?) boulders on the left shore, looking down! Luckily, I found the driftwood pile convenient to walk out onto! At around 8.5' (don't remember exactly) on the gauge, the bole was just below the surface, just past the second (?) 1' ledge drop hole, where a kayaker would see it just before it hit his chest after his boat had dived! The rest of the river there didn't look run-able to me. I and my kayaker buddy walked around, of course. I suppose a much higher level of water would safely submerge the bole. April 14, 2016
