Alerts
Log in to add an alertThere’s a significant branch sticking several feet out of the water right on the standard line for High Falls. If snagged, it would be a challenging rescue. I’ve already notified the Cheat Race organizers.
The rest of the Canyon is clear thanks to Cheat River Outfitters.
Someone left a rope attached on the right side of the drop in Morgan’s Rapid. It’s hard to tell where the other end may be dangling.
The rope is now removed as reported on Facebook. As reported by Richard Rudisill.
There is a massive hole on Teardrop that covers center right and right side of the river. You could get by on the very far right but it is MUCH easier to stay left the entire time.
Jeff Macklin:
As of 11-18-12, the lower part of Pete Morgan's rapid has wood between and next to the the two large rocks that are on the right of the normal line. The wood is parallel with the flow with short visible branches facing upstream. Water level this day was about 2.5 ft.
