The rapid here called 'Ditch Bitch' used to be very different and alot of fun. It was one of the funnest rapids to alot of boaters. A earthquake back in 02 or 03 i cant remember exactly when, but it changed the rapid at the exit. Travis Swinford from Rome, and I were the first down after the quake. We were very surprised when we found it changed. We actually filmed it with a old handycam. But this run does often change with heavy rain. Especially near the bottom. Funny thing is on here the rapid below the changed rapid, is named earthquake....

This is the left line at 2/3 around 0 or 1 inches. Pin potential is very high (hints the name.)

This is the view up Boogie Right from the pool at the bottom. The angle of this photo makes the steepness and character of the rapid hard to judge.

Dustin Bunch sneaks over the river left shelf at Ditch Bitch. The right line is a bad hole with huge undercut on the right.
John Eskew runs the final slide in the left line at Earthquake on Johnnies Creek.
Adam Petrillo runs the far river right sneak at Two out of Three on Johnnies Creek AL. As far as sneaks go... this one is pretty tricky and has gotten more then one boaters day off to a bad start.
This is how 'Cave Left' gets it's name. A swim from the hole can easily feed boat (and sometimes swimmers) in to the hard to escape rock alcove on river left. These folks spent an hour retreiving this boat.

It looks huge, but it's hard to mess up.
Better boogie left or wear elbow pads.

This is the view from Right Slot looking down the Conveyor Belt to the horizon line of The Big Slide. This is low water, but at high water its a real acceleration ramp.
This is one of the last rapids before the confluence with the Little River. Its a fun bouncy little jumble of small boulders. Well, that is if you don't hit the FU rock and bounce backwards down the left cliff wall.

This is the first and arguably the easiest rapid of the run. Leland back when he paddles a C-1.

This is the final drop on Bastard on Johnnies Creek, AL. What you can't see in this picture is the demanding upper part of the rapid... lots of pin spots prior to this last, fairly easy drop.

Sometimes you just gotta.......and Jeremy Orr did.
Jason Banks has a nice boof at Gorilla Constrictor, the most demanding rapid on Johnnies Creek.
Jeremy Orr runs Cliff Right.
Johnnies Creek is known for its tight, technical rapids. Well, except for the Big Slide.
The Little Slide can develop a fairly sticky hole at higher water levels. Here's Tia McNabb running the slide.
Johnnies Creek is known for its tight and technical rapids, but there's always an exception to every rule. Oddly enough, the tightest and most technical rapid is the one after The Big Slide.....Gorilla Constrictor!
Its a fun drop if you don't drag your knuckles against the jagged shale wall.

Bang your hand against the jagged shale wall and you'll understand how this rapid gets its name.

Hit the left side of the rooster-tail at the top then hold on for the auto-boof at the bottom. Even Todd can do it....
The Little Slide is actually steeper than this photo makes it look.
This is one of the last rapids before the confluence with the Little River. Its a fun bouncy little jumble of small boulders. Well, that is if you don't hit the FU rock and bounce backwards down the left cliff wall.
The rapid after Johnnies Creek Falls is the River Right Slot. There is usually some sort of wood stuck in it, so scouting is a must. This is Todd exiting the slot.
Most of the rapids on Johnnies Creek are tight, technical and close together. In other words: FUN!
