As of April 2025, a tree has fallen down across the river 100 yards upstream of Beerstein Falls. For the time being, it is possible to get under the tree with the main flow on the river left side of the channel before crossing to river right for the portage eddy upstream of Beerstein.

A view of the lip of the 20' drop into the 'cauldron' of the final gorge into the Temperance directly above Hwy 61. To get to this drop, you have to rappel onto a ledge above the feature, unclip, and go for it. Safety is best run via a person with a bag that rappels/ascends below the drop into the gorge. Even then, success is limited at best. Best run during low water (late summer/fall)
