2018.06.19: Flooding from heavy summer storms have reportedly caused a breach in the Radigan Dam. All areas downstream (on both the Tamarack and the St.Croix just downstream of the confluence) have been warned of potential for total failure, which would cause even more catastrophic flooding.

For the immediate future (likely a few days, possibly a week or more?) it may not be possible to use our listed put-in. Beyond that timeframe, anyone boating this in the coming weeks should be aware there is likely to be significant impact of this flooding: (A) Likely scouring of the riverbed, changing many area of the river. (B) Likely erosion of banks, dropping whole trees into the river. (C) While any pre-existing deadfall and snags are likely to have been washed downstream, expect that major accumulations of woody debris are likely in new locations. It will be more necessary than ever to look well-downstream and be wary around bends, to be ready to dodge or portage blockages.
