Stehekin
Agnes Creek to Lake Chelan
Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportIn the Summer of 2004, a friend and I paid $60/boat
round trip to get our hardshells on the Lady of the
Lake. We had a friend with a car but could only get to
the wash out in the road. We hiked up to Tumwater
Campground and put on the river. The Tumwater
Canyon is beautiful, walled in class IV-V. We portaged
one early because of sieves, but found some great
rapids and a fun 15ft(ish) waterfall in the canyon. We
ended up hiking out of the canyon because of a river
wide log in a very bad spot. This was just a couple/
few rapids above High Bridge. This is a great run with
difficult logistics.
inflatables are a smooth trip on the lower(below High Bridge)...after the 2003 flood, access to the upper is tough and no one has run it since, though the run through Tumwater gorge may just be worth the effort
Shane Perkins approaching the first bend below High Bridge.
