As of September, 2019 there was one fence requiring a portage. It is below the Main Event and is fairly obvious with large iron upright posts anchoring it inplace. There is a quick and easy portage on river left.
Also, beware of two fences in rapid succession directly below the highway 34 take out bridge. If possible take out above the bridge as soon as it becomes visible.

The Wheatland tunnel was constructed between 1883 and 1886 by the Wyoming Development Corporation. Canals #1 & 2 were constructed at the same time. The reservoirs were constructed a bit later; 1901 for reservoir #2.

The new put-in for this run requires that you put-in 12+ miles upstream of the standard put-in described in CRC. This is part of the V+ rapid at the put-in. It's not that bad of a portage to the flatwater below this rapid if you're not into putting right on to a V+ without warm-up ;) Ferrying across to river right at some point is recommended. You can also run the runnout of this rapid which is probably a IV+.
Expect to go deep on this one! But there's a good pool to roll up in - although it's a bit boily.
Ben getting surfed pretty good in the sticky hole just above the falls. Run this hole with speed on the left. Or put-in in an eddy river left, just downstream of the hole and run just the goods.

An 18' waterfall right below the put in.
