San Juan River Trip, April 15 (1300 cfs) through April 20 (700 cfs).
Flash flood in Grand Gulch at the confluence of the San Juan. The final pourover is about 5' high, for scale. Aerial photo from ~2000' agl.
Soloing a fully loaded canoe through pushy water is always a challenge, but a fun one.
Easy Class II
The San Juan is the perfect multi-day
whitewater family float.
Government is considered a class III
rapid.

There's nothing quite so relaxing as
a trip down the San Juan - especially
when Dad is at the oars.
This is a falls that formed when the water level in lake powell dropped and the river chose a new course. The photo was taken from ~800' AGL looking to the NW. The height of the falls appears to be 10-12'
