Put-in just below Lottis Ck campground where river is visible right next to road and beginning of boulder garden rapid (about mile marker 16.5). Have never run Taylor before.
At this level lower than Chris's last year trip report, I found the long section of alternating flat with lines of boulders to be tedious, constantly barely sliding over rocks and trying to pick out the line with 1/2 inch more depth. Never got out of the boat though, so it's runnable. Some channelized sections were more interesting.
Just before the mile marker 14 boat ramp is technical rapid with huge flat-sided boulder/piece of rock wall that forms a sort of cul-de-sac on the right, then used upstream ferry through the swirl to get back in current. After the boat ramp (apparently where commercials put-in) It's all fun.
At 223 cfs in future, I plan to just do laps between mm 14 & 8 ramps. Won't try above there again until the magical 250
