Fresno Co. Sheriff lifted the San Joaquin River closure, effective June 16, 2023.

Fresno County has declared an emergency due to flooding and road damages from the huge winter rain storms and the expected high flows this spring. Fresno County Sheriff has closed the San Joaquin river below Friant dam to all recreational uses during the emergency declaration. It is unknown under what conditions or on what date the emergency closure will end. The closure extends from Friant dam to the Fresno County Line.
