Pulse flows and coordinated work by AW Member Jeff Wasielewski and the El Dorado National Forest have cleared most of the key log hazards in the Ice House reach. Copy and paste the following link to download coordinates or review locations before you head out for scheduled recreational flows in June. https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Document/view/?id=5538
Fellow boater, Jeff Wasielewski, compiled a report of log hazards during the last recreational release on May 2022. Gauge records after this release indicate that flows in this reach never exceeded 50 cfs meaning most of the identified logs will likely still be in play for this year’s release. SMUD and the USFS will continue to work with American Whitewater to address log hazards that can be removed or relocated safely.
